El día 19 de Noviembre Jordan Margolis, Daniel Braun, Natalia Chernitsky, Salomón Masri, Jorge Puszkar, Alex Garzón, Andrea Calderón, y Elias Borovoy representaron nuestro Colegio en el Colegio Olinca en un debate con escuelas bilingües. El tema a debatir fue: “Media should be Restricted for Children our Age”.

A TRIP TO THE OLINCA
We were very nervous, excited, anxious and happy, we went to debate in the Olinca School filled of emotions, but it was a very good experience. I personally didn´t know the school, we went to the bus, we came to the school and we watch another debate. Finally they told us that the debate was about to start and Salo went to flip the coin and we lose, we needed to debate the negative side, we first thought that we were going to lose.
After speeches, cross-examinations and conclusion the debate finished. The ceremony started, we were all nervous until Mrs. Tere, the director, said “and the winner is: Tarbut” . We were all very happy, we screamed, we partied and we were proud of ourselves.
MY FIRST DEBATE
My name is Jordan Margolis.
Yesterday I had one of the best experience I ever had: debating. We went to Olinca School to discuss if Media Access should or should not be restricted. When we arrived, we saw all the amazing things that Olinca School has: padminton field, basketball field, cafeteria, etc.
Before we debated, we saw a debate between Olinca School and Institute La Paz. On the tables where we could sit, were three cups of water, pencils and paper sheets. The debaters couldn´t communicate orally so we needed to write notes. My favorite part of the event was the award ceremony.
After we debated, the general director did a two hours long speech and then she gave the awards. We had good results….. Salomon Masri won best debater. I won second place and we won best team!!.
I was so happy that I almost dropped a table. Please do more debates. A debate is our opportunity to give our opinion freely. It was an experience I will never forget.
